History

PDC is a subsidiary of Brady Corporation. PDC was founded in 1956 as Precision Dynamics Corporation with an innovation that was revolutionary at the time - a one-piece wristband, requiring no additional parts or tools. For more than 65 years, PDC has been a global leader and innovative manufacturer of identification, access control and patient security solutions for the healthcare, government, education, entertainment, events, hospitality and other corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

1956

PDC is founded

Walter W. Mosher, co-founder of PDC, was 22 years old and studying engineering at UCLA when he founded Precision Dynamics Corporation with three investors in 1956. The company developed what was a revolutionary innovation at the time: a one-piece wristband, requiring no additional parts or tools. The wristband sold out immediately and became the identification system of choice for hospitals around the world.

1972

PDC opens up to the events and leisure sector

In 1972, PDC decided to expand its product range to meet the needs of the events and leisure sectors for identification and access control. PDC quickly became the market leader, serving thousands of customers worldwide.

2004

Creation of PDC Europe

PDC sets up its first European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, with the acquisition of its long-standing distributor MFR Europe, now PDC Europe.

2012

The Brady Group acquires PDC

Brady Corporation (NYSE:BRC) ("Brady"), a global leader in identification solutions, announced the acquisition of Precision Dynamics Corporation ("PDC").

2013

Merger of PDC, BIG and CIPI

PDC, BIG and CIPI merge to form PDC Europe, expanding the product range to include wristbands, badges and lanyards.
